CV Marvin Ng

Marvin Ng is a Singapore-based Associate Partner.

Prior to joining the ActeaVentures team, Marvin has been an independent business development consultant since 2002, advising and helping international biomedical sciences companies to establish themselves in Asia and Europe.  In addition, he has consulted for foreign government agencies including those of Ireland, Thailand and New Zealand, supporting biomedical sciences companies from these countries as they expand their business activities into Asia. Aside from his consulting work, he is the co-editor of the Singapore Biotech Guide (www.biotechsingapore.com) and the Singapore Medtech Portal (www.medtech.sg).  At present, Marvin is also consultant/advisor to Zurich-based Adamant Biomedical Investments as well as the Experimental Therapeutics Centre in Singapore.

Marvin has significant experience and interest in industry and market research.  He had conducted technical research on intellectual property issues pertinent to the technology and life sciences sectors for the IP Academy and National University of Singapore. He has also advised and conducted industry research for BIOTEC, Thailand’s lead agency that is responsible for promoting the life sciences sector.

Prior to setting up his business development consultancy, Marvin was with the Singapore Economic Development Board, where he was responsible for investment promotion of European pharmaceutical and medical technology companies as well as in the development of strategic policies to promote Singapore’s biomedical sciences industry. 

Marvin is a microbiologist by training.  He obtained his First Class Honours Degree in Microbiology under a scholarship from the University of British Columbia (Canada) and subsequently, his Masters in Business Administration under a graduate fellowship from Simon Fraser University (Canada).
